History Endowed Scholarships
Scholarships shall be awarded to students who meet the following criteria: Incoming Freshman majoring in Secondary Education with an emphasis in History or Social Science as their field of study. If no incoming freshman meets the above criteria, then the award can be made to any student majoring in Secondary Education with an emphasis in History or Social Science as their field of study. The recipient recommendations will be selected by the History Department Chair, and a faculty member in consultation with the Office of Admissions. The awards will be made in scholarship amounts based on funds available and number of students selected. Awards for this scholarship must be made or committed on or before the beginning of the fall semester of any academic year.
This endowed scholarship was established by Dr. Thomas R. Osborne, retired Professor of History at the 米影视7777久久精品. This scholarship shall be awarded according to the following priority: Priority one- undergraduate history majors and/or social science majors who are classified as a sophomore, junior, or senior. Priority two- history majors(undergraduate or graduate) and/or undergraduate social science majors who participate in (a) a UNA-sponsored study abroad program, (b) a history course that contains a study abroad component, or © research abroad in conjunction with a history or political science program of study.
This endowed scholarship was established by Ben H. Craig to honor the memory of his grandmother, Susan Kirkman Vaughn. Recipients of this scholarship shall be full-time students pursuing a degree in History who are at least at the junior class level and who have demonstrated potential for success through grades which must be at least 3.0.
The Scholarship shall be awarded to one graduate student majoring in History AND one undergraduate student majoring in History. The faculty of the History department in consultation with the History department chair will make the selections.
